We had a great turnout to Yule in League City this year. Gwen and Nelson have a beautiful house and a very beautiful ritual area in their back yard. I think we must have had a hundred candles out there. And now that it has been raining at least once or twice a week here in SE Texas, we were able to have REAL FIRE for a change! Thank the Gods for giving us rain!
Imbolc is now around the corner, and I have an event announcement that can be found here: Joint Imbolc Retreat 2012
Hope to see everyone there!

We will be at Crystal Beach on Bolivar Peninsula this Sunday, June 19th at 9am. A few of us will be camping out Saturday night. Bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, food, water, camping gear if you are so inclined and shade because there ain’t none! It’s hot out there and there are tons of mosquitoes but the water is fine. Rite is noonish on Sunday.

We had a lot of wind but the sun did come out enough to give me a mild sunburn. I don’t think I have seen it quite so windy out there. However, we managed to have a very good rite thanks to the lanterns and my flame-less candles.
I’ve got a few pictures thanks to MacOgham who sent these.

We had a fantastic time! Thanks to all the speakers who showed up and held their classes for the most part on time. That’s a hard thing to accomplish at times! We had so much food, we couldn’t eat it all. We all had a lot of food to take home. No one left hungry. During the rite we had the leading edge of a cold front come through and all the rain went around us. Oh we had a few people get very worried, but we were not interrupted by rain, but the Sky gods gave us quite a lightning show!
The park staff was wonderful and very helpful. The site was awesome to say the least. A great fire ring with benches, a wash station, a nice pavilion with lights. Tent platforms looked like little zen gardens because the park staff had meticulously racked the sand in them. These people here at Lake Houston Wilderness Park rock on so many levels.
We wish everyone who had rsvp’d on Facebook could have shown, but we did have a very good turn out of nearly 20 people during the day.
On a final note, I have put the Omen up on the “Notes of the Seer” page for everyone’s viewing.
Thanks again for coming out,
Fionnghal.

And Hurricane season is in mid swing. Fortunately, we seem to be so far lucky in that most the storms as of this post have been heading out to the Atlantic. We are planning to have the Equinox at the end of September, but a date hasn’t been set yet. I’ll be posting soon on this. After the Equinox is Samhain. We’ve already talked about going to the Texas Renaissance Festival, for this. I’ll post more when I know more.

We had a very special and wonderful rite at Memorial Park. Thank you Dianna for bringing the shrimp salad. It was wonderful. We are planning together again in June for Midsummer at Galveston State Park. Please RSVP at the meetup site
Also, less formally we meet at Coffee Oasis in Seabrook, TX to do Chant practice on the Second Saturday of each Month. (However, we are meeting on the 15th of May as an exception to that rule.) Again, RSVP at the meetup site.
Hope to see you all there.
